Scale Application Workout

After learning all of the scale patterns on the neck, the next step is that of making melody. However, when doing so, it's helpful to make a link between the shape of the melody - related to the shape of the scale pattern. This link creates a much stronger relationship between the primary pattern and the melodic lines. Applying Alternate Voicings

In many styles of music we hear chords moving along the neck through varied arrangements of their notes. Although the chord type may stay the same, the arrangements of tones will alter. This altering of notes is called a chords voicing. In this video we discuss pop-jazz music, and the ways of moving Ma7, Mi7, and Dom. 7 chords around the neck.
